IES Eligibility Criteria 2014

IES Eligibility Criteria 2014 and IES Exam Pattern for all Exams is required to know to appear in IES Examination.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts IES exam for the recruitment of Engineers under Government of India in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical, Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering.

UPSC will conduct IES Exam on 20th June, 2014. So candidates who are interested to give this examination they must know the complete information about the eligibility criteria and Exam Pattern.

IES Eligibility Criteria 2014

Exam is conducted in two stages as written Examination and Personal Interview.

  1. Age Limit must be 21 years to 30 years.
  2. Only Indian Citizen, subject to Nepal and Bhutan are eligible to apply.
  3. Tibetan refugee candidates shifted their base to India before 1st January, 1962.
  4. The candidates of Indian origin migrated from neighbour countries like Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma and East African Countries of Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Ethiopia, Vietnam etc.
  5. Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugee and migrated aspirants are required to submit a “Certificate of Eligibility” which must be issued by the Government of India.

Qualification:

Candidates must have passed Degree or Diploma in Engineering from any recognized University

IES Exam Pattern for all Exams

Indian Engineering Service exam is held in two stages

  1. Written Exam
  2. Interview

Written Exam

Written Examination consists of two sections:

  • Section I – objective types questions
  • Section II – conventional (essay) type questions papers.

Personal Interview

Candidates on the basis of marks obtained in written test will be called for personal Interview of 200 marks.
